The 1998 Chinese team portaged Gyatse Gorge (also spelled Gyaca).

In 2007, a team organized by Windhorse Adventures (Willy Kern, Jed & Peter Weingarten and Tracey Bowerman) completed the first descent of last 35 miles of this 50 mile roadless canyon from near Sangzhuling (29.252N, 92.219E) to Gyatze 29.140N, 92.601E), using kayaks.

They had to portage so many rapids that Gyatze Gorge is not a good repeat run.
